The Management Team

The Company currently has a staff of six. As a group, the staff has extensive background in many aspects of medical service and product commercialization, in both new ventures and in large corporations.  In addition, the Company’s Board of Advisors includes individuals with extensive clinical, technical, and business experience. The following serve as executive officers of the Company.

 Christopher G. LaFarge, CEO:  A.B., Biology, Harvard College, 1977; MBA, Yale University, 1980; MFS, Yale University, 1980.  Mr. LaFarge has been the Founder/CEO of companies in several industries including forest products, oil and gas, and healthcare. He has successfully developed and brought to market a number of new products. His last company grew to a $50M market cap before its sale. Mr. LaFarge spent 3 years at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Hospital doing biomedical research.

Richard L. Trembowicz, President:  A.B., Biology, Harvard College; J.D., Boston University School of Law.  Richard Trembowicz  is an attorney who specializes in healthcare reimbursement systems, comparative effectiveness analysis, and early stage company funding and development. He founded EdTech Networks, Inc. a venture backed company, and was VP Business Development and General Counsel of AMD Telemedicine, Inc., an early-stage medical device company. 

Judson Pratt, VP Marketing:  BME, Tufts University, 1961; MBA, Tuck School Dartmouth, 1963. Jud Pratt has extensive experience in marketing, sales, and project management for healthcare information systems. He has created three healthcare IT products and brought them to market during his career as well as successfully starting and growing several healthcare IT companies.

Ute E. Schwiderski, VP Clinical R&D and Biometrics: Ph.D., Medical College of Virginia, B.S., Mathematics, University of Virginia. Ute Schwiderski has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for many years, most recently for Indevus Pharmaceuticals as VP Biostatistics and Data Management where she set up the department and was responsible for: project planning and management, biostatistics, statistical programming, data management, medical writing and document review functions; and previously for Bristol-Myers Squibb Company as Associate Director, Anti-Infective Biostatistics and Manager, CNS Biostatistics.

 

Catherine LeMaster, Project Manager and CRA: B.S., Purdue University. Cathie LeMaster has worked first with Millennium Pharmaceuticals and then with Indevus Pharmaceuticals as a Clinical Research Specialist, designing, planning and implementing clinical research projects for a variety of drugs trials, as well as in preparation of protocols, regulatory documentation, as well as site qualification, initiation and monitoring.

I. Peter Kellett , Product Development:  BSEE, Lanchester College, UK 1966.  Peter Kellett is an electrical engineer with 35 years experience in electronics design and manufacture in USA and Europe. Mr. Kellett holds five patents in the fields of telecommunications, control and measurement. Born and educated in the UK, Kellett also lived and worked in France before immigrating to the US in 1970. He founded and ran Product Resources, Inc. until 2006  a well established electronics design and manufacturing company in Beverly Mass.

Robert Fanning, Director  Robert Fanning is the former President and CEO of Northeast Health System, based in Beverly, MA, an integrated health delivery system including Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals, with revenue in excess of $00M annually.  Bob has been an active healthcare angel, and has served on the Boards of Directors and Advisors for a number of established and early stage healthcare companies, including Healthcare Property Investors, the largest publicly traded Health Care REIT, Presyce Solutions, SentiCare, Forerun, and Perfect Serve. Bob is also a former Director of the Tufts Associated Health Plan.

Robert Horne, Director:  Mr. Horne has been a VP and General Manager for Vertical Market Solutions of Nortel Networks focusing on the Finance, Healthcare Retail, Hospitality and Education markets. While at Nortel, Mr. Horne spearheaded their venture capital investing activities. He has a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University, England, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.  His recent and prior Healthcare activities have included:

  • Given Imaging Inc. (GIVN), Atlanta, Georgia, serving in the capacity of Vice President Organization Development and advisor.

  • President and CEO of BioCAD Corporation, now part of Pharmacopeia (PCOP), a Sunnyvale, California, venture capital backed software company, focused on developing new pharmaceuticals.

  • General Manager of Accuray, Inc. (ARAY), a Santa Clara, California, venture capital backed company developing stereotactic radio surgery equipment.

  • Senior Vice President, Operations, TSI Corporation (NASDAQ) a supplier of pre-clinical, clinical and biological testing services to the healthcare industry;

 

Board of Advisors

Robert Schlesinger, MD, Director: Physics and Electrical Engineering degrees, Tufts University, 1956. MD, Tufts Medical School, 1964. Design engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. He has held academic or clinical appointments at Harvard, Boston University, and Tufts. Currently Director of Urology Services at two Boston teaching hospitals, and a surgeon.

Pamela I. Ellsworth, MD, FACS  Dr. Ellsworth is board certified by the American Board of Urology and practices at University Urology Associates in Providence.   Dr, Ellsworth is an Associate Professor of Surgery (Urology) at the Brown Medical School.  She is a leading national expert on pediatric urological issues and adult erectile dysfunction.

Niall Mercer Heney, MD, MB, BCH, BAO   Dr. Heney is board certified in Urology and his areas of interest are urologic oncology, artificial urinary sphincter, and penile prosthesis Dr. Heney is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery (Urology) at Harvard Medical School and practices at Massachusetts General Hospital, Department of Urology

Gary Paul Kearney, MD, FACS   Dr. Kearney is Chief of Urology at New England Baptist Hospital, and is board certified in Urology and his areas of interest are urologic oncology, stone disease, vasectomy reversal, and urinary incontinence.  Dr. Kearney is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.

Michael Philip O’Leary, MD, MPH   Dr. O’Leary is board certified in Urology and is affiliated with BWH Surgery and Urology as well as the Dana-Farber/BWH Cancer Center. Dr. O’Leary‘s areas of interest is benign prostatic hypertrophy, prostate cancer, male infertility and sexual dysfunction, and stone disease.  Dr. O’Leary is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.

Brian B. Bloom, M.D., M.B.A. Dr. Bloom is the Medical Director of Respiratory Therapy at New England Sinai Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases and critical care. Dr. Bloom is an
Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine
